Air Filter Box Flap - Rubber Seal Torn 700 1989

I just installed a new air filter today. When cleaning out the inside of the air box, I noticed that the rubber seal on the right side of the flap was cracked and one piece actually missing. I am not very familiar with the inside of that box - I know there is a thermostat there, and two pipes leading from the bottom of the box where the flap is. The seal on the right side of that flap is torn and won't seal the hose correctly. What impact would that have on the performance of the car? Can I get a replacement seal, or do I have to buy an entire new flap/air box?

Thanks.
