Buying '94 960 900 1994

So my father sees a nice 964 at the Carlisle Import/Kit show. He's so impressed with it that when a lawyer friend/aquaintance mentions that he has one for sale, it all but agrees to buy it sight unseen. All I can do is shake my head.

So here it is: As a '94 with 120K miles, should he run from this car due to the reputation of the early 960s on this board? Were things straightened out by then?

Next, the price is $3500, which seems quite reasonable to me. I'm looking for thoughts there. Too high? Too low for a car without any problems?

Lastly, what maintenance/repairs is this car likely to need?
