220 engine oddities 120-130

I agree with your questioning of the engine balancing. The guy who did it has a good reputation with local racers, but... My other thoughts were to check the bearings. The machine shop measured and ordered them for me when the block was being bored, and I have since discovered that there reputation is less than perfect. Do you think wrong size bearings could cause vibrations? I will balance the drive shaft with new ujoints when I put in the o-drive.
Regarding the alternator, I am using the modern gm alternators with the SWEM kit conversion. Somehow the gm alternators do not like to sustain 4500-5000 rpm for 6-8 hours.
Thanks,
Erik
