Best Fnt rotors and pad combo? S90-V90 1993

I just did the fr discs & pads on my '96 960 and got parts from FCP Groton, under $100 for Zimm/PBR metal! I replaced the origional discs at 70k last week, and 2nd set of pads. The brakes are much better, but the Volvo discs and pads which are both designed to wear down equally seemed to have better stopping power than the harder Zimm/PBR combo. I guess it is better to have a bit of brake dust and get better stopping, at a much higher cost though. (>$200)
The 960 seems to have a weak brake design. I've been looking for some aftermarket upgrade calipers/discs but have been told that the 960 has the largest brakes Volvo offers and can't find aftermarket brakes. Some sst brake lines will help a lot too.
When doing the brake job, be sure to pull the guide pins off the calipers, clean , inspect and re-lube with anti-seize. If the pin shows any sign of uneven wear, replac them. This is often a cause of the brake vibration.
