How to go about GeTtInG better instrument cluster lighting? 200 1990

Pimps, Bricksters, & Gentlemen,

Rrecently installed a new instrument cluster housing/fascia in my car. I also up-graded with a tachometer, blue & silver faced overlays from D.Barton, & some other cool modifications.

The conversion looks and feels great ((kinda funny how a paper overlay makes everything look awesome, but what does that say, if anything, about a Volvo?)) but the night time illumination is super weak. What can I do?

I have read about "jumping" the dimmer switch. What is that about? Will it provide me with what I am after -at least some gain? Details on the process would be great.

Is there any other way to improve the lumens in that area?

Thanks in advance, Peace, Jon
