turbo oil leak 700 1991

I noticed the other day that there was a fair amount of oil sitting in my turbo hoses, and there must be some in my intercooler. I mean there were puddles. I checked on the faq page and it just said don't sweat it unless it's leaking alot of oil. Lately I have needed to add about and additional quart of oil on top of what i usually add between oil changes. I'm assuming the oil seals in the turbo need to be replaced. What else could it be. Will this harm my car. How hard would it be to replace the seals. I looked in the hanes manual and it didn't look to difficult. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 1991 740 turbo
