Hey everyone,
Well I live in PA and a fairly local boneyard is having a sale $20 addmission and $1 for any parts you pull. What a deal!! Hopefully I can find parts I am looking for. I am also going for part for my lifted 85 Jeep Cherokee. Looking for a 350sm block for it.
But at any rate, I have an 87 740TI wagon. Runs pretty good.
Its an automatic(aw71) I want to know about the M46 5 spd. My book says that the aw71 has a 1rst gear ratio of 2.45:1,2nd of 1.45:1 for the auto. Now the M46 says 4.03:1(1rst) and 2.16:1. I either have 4.10 or 3.73's in the rear. I think the 3.73's are in it now. THe only benifit with the aw71 is strengh and .10 lower for the OD gear.I do not know how strong the M46 is.
Questions are, drive shaft, crossmember and are the 2.3L exteranlly ballanced? I know some motors a balanced with help of the flywheel.
I am going to look for a 90 or later b230ft while I am there. Hopefully it will have a good M46 with it.
Anyone have any input on this?
And also my book say my car weight is GvW 4230lbs. Is this right??? What a brick!! LOL
Thanx,
Rich
