CD Changer Error Code 'E-03' - Help! 900

I have a stock Volvo changer that has a Volvo 814 headunit running it.
I just read the other posts about error codes E-01 & E-02, and I tried those suggestions with no luck.

The disc player will not play.
There is a disc in the player still when the cassette ejects.
I have tried to put the cassette in-n-out a few times, to see if the disc will come out.
I have also disconnected and reconnected the DIN plug to the changer, to see if that would "spark" something into working. No dice.

Has anyone had this error code?
What is it?
What did you do?

1990 745T Kenwood am/fm cass changer - works fine!
1993 944T Volvo am/fm cass changer - does not work :(
