lowering springs for a 242 200 1979

Well, I had a long discussion today with a guy who bought the IPD springs for his 242 (81 turbo)... it's too low in his opinion for everyday use. At least around here where we have to deal with potholes, drainage things at every driveway, and general lousy conditions of roads.
I saw the car and I have to agree- side by side with my stock 87 it's 2 inches lower. very stiff though. I wonder if the wagon springs would give it more stiffness without dropping it so much?

The 2 inch drop causes the exhaust and the ends of the car to scrape quite a bit. I've been considering the IPD springs but now I think I'll look for something else- I do not want to lower the car as much as their kit does.
