Unfortunately, it sounds like you have a fairly significant leak that needs to be fixed. The R134A is fairly sensitive to overfill (you can add non-oil R134A until the lp gauge reads about 30psi with compressor running) so don't overfill and the only way to ensure a max fill is with a weight scale (fill a specified weight of R134A).

Likely leakers are hose connections for your sniffer. You could also have a stone/small hole in the condenser.
