database for nut/bolt/hex/socket/etc. sizes

Hi folks -

I'm making an offer to all you folks. I don't know how many often this happens to you all, but it happens to me frequently enough that I would care. Before starting a job, I have no idea what size tools I need, and since I don't have a very huge collection yet (I'm slowly accumulating different tools), I have difficulty figuring out the size.

Before I start work on this tiny project, I want to get a feel for how much interest there is in this. It would be based on user contribution and separate from Brickboard.

What I am proposing to create is a simple database for the different size tools required for different jobs/parts.

For example, if I were to go to work on my brakes, I would check the database before hand and enter in:
Year, Model, and then enter into my search string "brake" and hopefully (if I write the code properly) it will return results like so:

YearModelItemTool(s)
1990740Brake, caliper mount/float pinssocket, 13mm
1990740Brake, caliper mounting bracketssocket, 17mm
1990740Brake, linesflare wrench, 11mm and 15mm

Or something to the gist of that.

Is there already something like this in existance? If not, how interested would you be in this, and would you be able/willing to contribute to the database?

Thanks! I want to get a feel for this before I spent time developing it.

P.S. In case you're wondering what prompted this, it was while replacing the brake lines on my 1990 740 and realizing that I had the wrong size flare wrenches after I had slightly rounded out a nut and ended up bringing it to my mechanic. DOH! Luckily, no harm done. They were able to put everything in for me using the proper flare wrench and what not.

Anyways, give me your input!

edit: sorry about the spacing thing, the forum does some sort of automatic spacing thing to the table above so it messes up the few lines before it.
edit2: fixed
