removing ECU 700

Now that I have located the ECU thanks to the BB! I have another question... how do I safely remove the ECU. It looks like the large black connector is attached to a hard drive(looking) box which then slides into a giant steel box that says Bosch on it. Seems that there are 2 clips holding it in but the thing doesn't budge and I am hesitant to force it out. How do I get the hard drive looking thing out? I just need to get some numbers off of it.
