database for nut/bolt/hex/socket/etc. sizes

I'm open to suggestions as to how to get this working right/well/proper. My plan was to have it written in PHP using a MySQL database on my own server. Is Jarrod's host up to handling the extra traffic/CPU time required from the database lookups? Lots of MySQL queries can really lag a server out. Is Brickboard even using MySQL and is PHP capable or is it a different package?

What I think would work best in this situation is to have the entries placed into the database. No login is required to make these contributions. However, before the contributions are displayed, an admin (there will be a few) must first approve the entry. This way, the database will be less prone to having meaningless spam or completely incorrect information.
