Fosterize it!! 200 1981

Well, sorry about the null message above, I hit return accidentally...

Search the archives for Don Foster's famous words "resolder the fuel pump relay", "clean and easy work", $0, and if it doesn't fix it, it hasn't cost you anything or something to that effect. He explains it (much better than I can, hence my reference to searching the archives) as a problem with the quality of the wave soldering of the relay's printed circuit board solder connections. The solder develops hairline cracks and becomes intermittant in its connection and conductance. This is responsible for many kinds of intermittant bad behavior by bricks!!

Just melt the existing solder and (add a bit more if necessary) let it reflow around the connectors. MAke sure that it does not form any type of bridge to any adjacent printed circuit line.

You can also get a new replacement from fcpgroton.com or our other BB advertisers for less than $20 if I remember correctly.

Well, I hope you have enough to go on...

Good Luck!
