Where are the springs?????

There is one spring and it is inside the sleeve that has both the non-conductive center and the conductive ends. The sleeve slides freely (but only a short distance)on that spring. The sleeve itself is not spring loaded. I believe the spring is to keep tension on the pieces that hold the O-rings so that the plugs have something to push against and make them seal.

The other possibility is that there was a design change between 87 and 88. Unfortunately I sent a stripped parts car to the crusher today (an 82). I should have pulled the block on that one to check to see if it was different.

I'm sorry if this reply is posted more than once I am having some problems with my server tonight.
