How about some info- what car/engine/year?

Assuming it's a 240 - check the fuse in the engine compartment. A 25-amp fuse in a white plastic holder is right behind the battery, clipped to the side of the fender. The fuse holder can break or corrode. Replace it- it's only $3 from Volvo.

If it's a late 240 (91-93) or a 740/940 check the regular fuses in the fuse block. I believe it's fuse #1 in either case. Also 25-amp.

Good luck.
