Could a wheel bearing make a clunking sound??? 200

Hey all,
Well still dealing with my suspension clunks but seem to have isolated the main problem to the front driver's side. The balljoint needs replacing as does the lower a-arm bushing (cracked), but is it possible that the wheel bearing could be the damn culprit?? I think some of you mentioned this to me as a possibility. My Volvo guy told me that my rack was on it's way out, so just had it replaced...not cheap but response is much better and basically zero play in the wheel yet the clunk is still present!! Anyway, there isn't any play or looseness in the actual wheel but curious if it could be worn and creating a metallic hard clunk when going over bumps and potholes...driver's side is the main thud/clunk maker. Strut mounts and all other front-end bushings in great condition and all bolts tight...will tackle replacing rear bushings next week. Damn, when all set and done the car will be really like showroom condition and I'll be totally broke!!!

Thanks again!
