m41 OD differences between D and J type, prepurchase advice desired 120-130 1968

Have opportunity to purchase m41 D type for my Amazon wagon. Understand that the J type is a stronger unit, but will D type be adequate? Have a B20F in car with D grind cam, Weber DGV, 2 1/4 exhaust.

Kind of doubt car puts out enough HP to cause problems with the D type OD. Think it will be up to the task? Before purchasing, is there anything in particular I should check out on tranny? Thanks!
