940 134-a A/C Compressor Replacement Source 900 1993

'93 940 b230f with R134A needs a new compressor according to the shop (leaking between halves). That want a total of $770+ to do the job. Yeah, right. Anyway, I think I can replace, but the question is:

1) Do I go with a new one from FCP Groton that needs modification according to their website? (here's the note: "Note 1A: This is not a OE replacement! This compressor has "vertical" configuration of the fittings. The reason for the original equipment "V" configuration causing problems is that the a/c lines on these cars have a bridge holding them at an angle suitable for fitting into the "V". This problem is solved by cutting the bridge. The lines can then be turned to fit the vertical fittings on the Seltec."

2) Procure an exact fit from somewhere else?

3) Go with the salvage yard?

Thanks, Any other tips and advice gladly appreciated!

Tom
