84 air mass meter into an 86 200 1986

will I mess up anything trying an air mass meter from b23f in my b230 engine?
they look alike axcept for the casing is aluminum and a different serial number.

I know for sure my old air mass meter is not working. I unplugged it while running and it idled up and stopped smoking. so would like to experiment with the salvaged one from a recently wrecked 84dl sedan.
