A/C Compressor - questions 200 1989

1.. Are there any short term advantages to emptying out compressor oil and refilling with fresh oil (whether mineral or ester oil)? By this question I am comparing a compressor to an engine where oil looses it's lubrication abilities and gets contaminated over time... I do understand that in a closed A/C system the oil is actually 'everywhere' so there is no way to replace it all without a complete flush, but is bothering to dump compressor contents and re-filling a worthwhile idea? I am asking this on the basis of extending the life of the compressor.

2.. Any experience with Freeze 12, if I was to add it into vacuumed out retrofitted system (ester oil)?

Let me know, thanks!
