Turbo Owners - check those coolant hoses!!!

You (water cooled) turbo owners check the coolant hoses!!

We just went through a major heat wave here in the PNW (amazing I know, almost 90°F) and well as I was driving home I noticed my temp gauge on the 1985 245Ti heading a bit high.....and as I pulled into the driveway, ouuuu I smelled that smell, coolant a-bubblin'....and she was a-dribblin'....

Like a rock. The top turbo coolant hose. 4+ years old 3/8" hose so brittle it was approaching diamond hardness. I always have a nice stash of hose in the ge-rage. Replaced the lower hose too, it was still serviceable, but....took me maybe 30 minutes to replace both hose. Actually it took me longer to burp the system than anything else....she was being a bit stubborn with one or two trapped air pockets.
