I'm not sure about US insurance but in UK you can normally arrange to pay a slightly higher premium to park your car "on the street" which basically means anywhere but in a locked garage. I convinced my agent by talking-up the armoured coil as a great defence against theft. There are loads of classic insurance agents out there. If yours does not fit the bill, then just go elsewhere.

BTW, is the coil thief-proof? I heard of a guy that lost his 122 recently but they had to literally push it out of his garden and down the road.
