Transmission Shifting Problem Solved 900 1993

A new OD relay solved the OD shifting problems on my '93 945t. The AT wouldn't shift into OD unless you briskly accelerated then eased up on the throttle. I re-soldered the relay (twice) and flushed the fluid with synthetic to no avail. I consulted the FAQ and Brickboard and finally came to the conclusion that it must be the OD solenoid. However, before I had a chance to install a used solenoid, the OD lockout arrow started turning on when the cabin temperature was high. After the cabin would cool, the light would go out. I replaced the OD relay last night and both problems disappeared. The only down side is I don't know whether to be happy that the relay fixed the original problem, or that I now have a $95 solenoid on the shelf. For now, I'll just be glad that the problem is resolved. Now I can move on to that rear wiper problem on the other 945...
