HELP! Stupid ball joint won't come off!! Need answer FAST! 200 1987

I have to replace the left (driver's side) ball joint to pass inspection this year, and i can't get the damn thing off. I followed the chilton's instructions:

1) took off the three 19mm nuts holding it to the a-arm

2) took off the 4 12mm (maybe 14mm?) bolts holding it to the strut.

now it won't come off. it looks like there's a seam right above the 4 bolts. is there a trick to getting it off? right now i'm trying liberal amounts of pb blaster and hammering the hell out of it. any other suggestions?

i need to finish this by around 4 so i don't bring the number of disabled vehicles at the house to 2. we finally got the crank pulley bolt off my mom's old honda accord with about 100 ft-lbs!

Mike
