Replacement of Steering Universals... 200

Gentlemen,

Well, I dont think my steering universals are going to take any more lubricant. My steering is stiff (and getting worse) so it must be time to replace the universals. Rather than try to find the offending culprit, I prefer to replace them both and save myself any future drama.

Can it be done with hand tools? Do I have to disassemble the intake in order to get to the upper universal joint? Can this job be completed from the engine compartment -or do I need a lift for the bottom universal? Any advice on this process would be great!

I was thinking about pushing this project in the direction of my mechanic. While my mechanical aptitude is very high, and this project fairly obvious, one wonders if this can be done outside my apartment complex with simple hand tools...

Thanks, Jon
