ABS Sensor Wheel 700

Has anyone successfully disengaged an ABS sensor wheel from a hub. Getting it off looks ugly enough to make me wanna' buy new ones, but with my luck....two plastic mallet taps and it would have fallen in my lap. Any advice is welcome. Oh, and by the way, sensitive as I am, it would not be a good idea to ask why I'd like to remove one. Thanks!!
