My Golden Beast won't start.... 200 1989

So I go outside to leave for school (last week before I graduate) and hop into my nifty Gold '89 GL Wagon, and turn the key...The engine turns over, but it decides not to fire. After quite a few minutes of angry attempts to start it up, I call up a friend and get a ride to school. When I come home, I try again, to no avail. Well, thinking that my sparks were probably still the original ones, I went out and got some new ones, as well as a new distributor cap, rotor, and new wires. I got home, stuck 'em in there, and.....
nothing...
So I call up my friends dad, who owns at least two 240s, both with over 200K on them (I think the Silver Bullet, as we call it, has more than 425K), and he gives me some advice, and we found that there seems to not be any spark jumping. Now, I've never had any electrical problems before...but what could this mean? Ive heard coil, I heard the ignition unit...What do you guys think?
