Idle 700 1992

I have a 1992 740 Turbo Wagon. Idle is about 700 RPM and continually dips to 500 RPM. It has new plugs and wires. I've seen postings about air map sensor or something like that and throttle body cleaning. I had one person tell me to check the throttle plate?? I am just looking for a logical place to start. I also have some crazy whining and interference in the radio when the cooling fan runs. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
