Delayed Upshifts on Auto Trans 900

94 945 non-turbo, 97k miles. It seems to shift into a higher gear much too late and usually at almost 4k rpm. We'eve gotten used to driving it by releasing pressure on the accelerator momentarily to make it shift. It also doesn't spend much time in 4th gear before going into overdrive, maybe a couple of seconds. I had the transmission flushed with new fluid but the problem is still apparent. I hoping that maybe the shift cable just needs adjusting. What do you all think? Which way to adjust?

Thanks!

Paul
