all dash lights on part II ( Thanks Aye Roll, and Brownboy!) and belt in front of p/s unit 200 1979

Hi again all, While I was checking around alternator, I was checking belts also. I noticed the belt in front of the power steering unit was not tight at all. Should it be? On the alternator subject, I started it a few times since the splash incedent, all lights still on.(about 6 hours since splash, I was hoping that maybe everything would dry and it would be as if nothing happened) The wiring behind the alternator seems ok but I didn't get a real good look.(I'm at work and checked it on a smoke brake, so I didn't do deep into the project)Thanks for the links Brownboy, I will certinly take heed to the "quick preventive" if indeed the wiring harness isn't baked. (I am hoping it isn't) Thanks Aye Roll, I think you are right-on about the belts slipping. I did notice that the 2 belts in front of the alternator are not very tight. I am for sure getting a splash pan. How would I tighten those belts? I am still new to fixing cars. Since I bought the best, safest car in the world, I decided I should be able to fix it too. Now I am learning. I am hoping this will not put off my road-trip to Pittsburgh and Niagara Falls starting next Thursday. Frankly,I don't even want to go if I can't take my Volvo with me. Thanks Bricksters! Franco79 '79 245dl 212,800..and just getting started
