Volvo 164 -70 Help. 140-160

Im thinking of buying a 164 from -70.
What should I look for.
Whats the main problem with this car?
How relieble are a 164?
Should I buy manuall or automatic?
I found one -70. Its all original parts, original owner etc.
Hes asking 1000$. I havent seen it yet so I cant tell how much rust theres on it.
Tell whats the worst thing that could brake down on a 164-70, and how much it will cost. So Im prepared for the worst scenario.:)
