A/C Problem - What Am I in for Now? 900 1993

1993 940 with R134a

Went to get A/C recharged and mechanic said compressor was leaking - needs replacement. OK - order one from fcpgroton, and they suggest new dryer/receiver too. Ok - compressor goes in fine. Go to install dryer and one of the pipes that go into firewall is rusty and totally collapses and shears off. Oh! Sh - -!!

Lifted off cowl cover, and of course, whatever the pipe goes to, must be buried in the dash, next to the blower. The line that sheared is the same line that the low pressure tap comes off of.

What is the thing that the line has ben sheared from, how do I get to it, and what do I do to replace? Thanks.

Tom
