30 yrs from now - will Volvo still be as cherished ??

I have thought before of how so many of us love our older RWD Volvo's. For me it is the simplicity (comparatively speaking) of the 9x series on back in comparison to the newer front drive models.

The question is - are there any Volvo's being built now that might lend themslves to the this type of person in the future - tinkerer, fixer upper, shade tree type , searching out parts to make it the best it can be, going for as many miles as you can get ..and being proud of it ...etc; etc.

I for one doubt it. The new cars are so complicated and PERFECT (at least they seem to want to be) that I for one would be able to do little to them. Maybe that will change with time.

Just fishin' for opinions.
