Front End Clunk 120-130 1967

Hi All

I'm stumped...last spring I replaced every suspension bushing, all steering components, calipers and shocks in my '67 122. For the past 8 months I've been getting a clunk in the left front that I can actually feel in the brake pedal when I back out of the driveway and apply the brakes. It only does it once-I can't get it to do it again till I apply the brakes in forward motion-and it won't clunk again till I put in reverse again. My last hope was the wheel bearings which I replaced today-to no avail.

The brake pads are seated properly with their clips and calipers are tight
The shocks are tight
The aftermarket sway bar links are tight
I can't feel any noticable play in the wheel when I have it jacked up and wiggle it

What are the chances of upper ball joint going bad or being defective from the beginning?

Any other ideas? This is very frustrating!
