cautionary tale on the use of REDEX and similar 900

Ok several of you will have been following my ongoing battel to cure my '2 stroke' 940...

well bit the bullet and decided to ditch the fancy mobil 1 0w40...repalcing it with 10w40 semi-synthetic (which interstingly enough is what my local volvo dealers use for all bricks apart fro mthe new D5's they tell me)...

deciding to do this (have seen cooments on trubo bricks abotu people with similar issues) I also have had it suggested I may have a stuck scraper ring so I thought i would see if i could 'snake oil' it free....

having thought about it decided to apply snake oil(s) prior to chaning oil (so i can ditch snake oil(s) with old oil..

so plan was...apply REDEX into cylinders...leave to stand as per bottle (thought being this may soak down thru ring lands) then expel this thru spark plug holes (as per bottle) then add flushing compound to oil and drive for 20 miles (hoping this may attach rings from below)..then drop oil and install castrol 10w40 semi synthetic....

Well all was going swimingly until i started car after redex treatment CLOUDS of smoke out of the tail pipe...(expected some...but this was silly)...still it cleared fast enough....

load wife.com & kid into car and go for a drive..turn into mainstreet, press go pedle....no im guessingt it is about this point the exhaust heats up and i lay a smoke screen down mainstreet at 2pm on a saterday afternoon 9takes about 5 MILES to clear!) ..

After that everything went ok...WIFE.GOV NOT AMUSED...you have been warned!
