'88 intermitantly dies while slowing down, why??? 200 1988

The '88 244 with 163K I have likes to just die during a slow down, like at a stop light and such. It's as if I turned the key off during slow down.

Now here is what is new:
Fuel filter
plugs, wires, cap, rotor
timing belt
air filter
in-tank fuel pump and sock filter

After looking at my Bentley I suspect the coolant temp sensor, however I am really not sure. It runs fine, with minor stumble during idle and running, but just dies without warning.

Any suggestions to check? It seems like an easy fix, but I just don't know where to start.

Thanks in advance!
