Hot start problem....HELP

Hot start problem. It will start within 1 second the first time I start it cold. After it warms up, it cranks continously for 10-15 seconds until it starts. When it finally starts it has no power and SMOKES. However, if I disconnect the knock sensor before starting it hot, it still takes forever to start, but when it does it runs great. I have read EVERYTHING in the FAQs. Ive done most of the troubleshooting tips for the various sensors and relays.

Bad idle control valve. It's stuck open. Took it apart and the brushes have worn grooves into the contacts. I filled the grooves with solder and filed smooth, but it doesn't appear to be getting contact unless I spit on the contacts and put it back together. LOL, works until the spit dries. However, even when the valve is working (see spit technique above) the hot start symptoms are still present.

Fuel check valve. Should I have line pressure after stopping the engine. If I loosen the union at the fuel rail, should I have fuel spraying out?

Pre pump. I took it out, submerged it it gasoline and energized it. It pumped fuel approximately 1 to 2 inches straight up in the air. Does this seem like enough pressure? Also, the humming in the tank is VERY low. The filter sock had a big hole.

I haven't checked the O2 sensor yet? Is it possible (necessary) to clean one.
