My Volvo is in excellent condition and intend to keep it for good. Recently, I experienced the late shift in gear 1st to 2nd all the times again when the engine is cold. I have seviced the valve body 2 times but now being advised that my gearbox is probably due for replacement. (I have clocked in 200,000KM or 120,000miles so far.) If I am to have a factory exchange unit which will cost about US3000 including labor would it be a better idea to upgrade it to a uto 5 forward speed for better performance and fuel consumption. How should I go about looking for options (preferably gearbox that just fit nicely without modifications)
