Crazy car issues 200 1983

Hi All,

This is my first time posting a message to a forum. So please excuse any typos or posting screwups etc.

I just recently bought a blue 83 240 DL sedan and for the most part it drives great.. there are a few wierd issues with it though. I will put them in sections ..

Wierd rear end clunking - Clunks when accelerator pedal is released not when pressed. The noise seems to be happening from the rear of the car.

Cold Start Problem - Car is somewhat difficult to start when left for about 2 or so hours. It usually takes about 7 seconds to finally crank over. Once it starts it idles really rough for about 5 minutes(or stalls if I drive without the manual choke all the way on). After this it runs perfectly. Had the car tuned up and idle speed increased. It seemed to fix it for about a week then it went back to the above problem.

Thank you to anybody who can point me in the right direction with these problems. I really have no ideas about car problems so any information is greatly appreciated.

-Mark
