Just purchased Volvo 940 1991/120k miles, what should be checked? 900

Hi,

A close friend of mine just bought a 1991 volvo 945 turbo(wagon) with 120k miles at the odometer. It is an immaculate car.

He was asking me what he should watch for in the future so to cary good preventive maintenance. I know many things about 240 but I do not know the special precautions to be taken for a turbo model.

Here are the items I already mentioned to him :

- replace engine oil and filter
- replace transmission fluid
- check radiator, replace cooling fluid
- replace differential lubricant
- replace brake fluid with DOT 4
- remove all carpets and drive a while under the rain , check for water finding its way inside
- check and re-lubricate front wheel bearings
- check front and rear suspention bushings
- check mileage of timing belt or replace for a new one
- replace distributor cap and wires
- replace spark plugs
- replace air filter
- check intake and exaust valve clearances

Special care for Turbo models : ?

Looks like we will have a new brickster on this forum.
Thanks everybody.
