hole in hose 700 1987

With junkyard hoses you obviously take the risk that they might actually be worse than your current ones. Or you might get lucky and find a recently wrecked 740 with new hoses? always possible. I faced this same dilemma and ended up just ordering new MTC hoses from FCPgroton. They cost much less than Volvo hoses and seem to be made just as well. Plus if I find a hole I can send them back and get a replacement. FCPgroton seems to be pretty honest and they will usually do the right thing.
