no dash lights 900 1991

Hi Can anyone help. I have just bought 940 saloon 1991(last week). I have lost all dash warning lights when i turn the ignition on apart from the seatbelt warning light. Car still starts/ runs, headlights, foglights etc heater blower fuel guage, temp guage and dash backlight all still working. I thought it might be a multi plug disconnected under the dash but as yet can't find it. Have checked all fuses in the the fuse box even though the handbook doesn't show a fuse that covers the dash warning lights. I would be grateful of any ideas that anyone might have as I am now struggling. Thanks
