To buy a 740 wagon or not to buy 700

Hello
I am looking to buy another vehicle, and I happened to come across a 1989 Volvo 740 GLE Wagon with 254k miles. The car itself doesn't look all that bad on the outside, however the INSIDE looks ROUGH. The two fron seats look like they have been through a shredder. The rear seat look about as bad. The passenger side door is partially dismantled.(Looks like someone attempted to open it, and instead pulled of a portion of the interior molding. The tires look okay, but they will need replacemnt eventually. I once owned a volvo, and I thought that this would be a fun car to own. the guy wants $750 for it. Also they A/C "needs a recharge" which means that big bucks will have to bee spent to make it work. I really like the car, but I don't know if I can afford it being that I goto college and need somewhat reliable transportation. There also is a 1989 Acura intergra gs with 129k for $1000 that is in much better condition....but I still like volvos. Should I get it and make it a fixer upper, or should I just let this one go.
