You are obviously an accomplished mechanic and fabricator. You could do just about anything. Often young and/or inexperienced people ask how hard it is to do a conversion or a swap. I think it is best to be realistic with them. If you have never done much mechanical work, you need someone to help you, preferably a good mechanic. And that mechanic should be confident and comfortable with the project. If a shop is skeptical or does not think it can be done, don't push them to undertake the job. Ideally, find a shop that has done a similar job before or at least thought a lot about it. If you have to pay for them to figure out every step of the job, the bill adds up fast. I am in favor of a strong warning where I perceive the knowledge level of the inquirer to be at the ground floor level. And usually it is not hard to tell. You have to be determined to do these kinds of projects. And, frankly, the determined person does not give up. He or she keeps asking and then comes back with follow up questions, whether the sources are here or elsewhere. I used to call all over the US and even abroad for Volvo Turbo hotrod information, when I started tinkering with them back in the late 80s.
