AC Compressor clutch 700 1992

I just want to confirm the obvious. I replaced my AC Compressor with a used one (3 month warranty). during a trip it quit working. there is proper pressure on the low side (R-134).I had originally thought that the pressure sensor had gone bad but with it connected and system turned on I used a test light, touching the compressor with one side and the other onto the positive side of the battery showing it was getting power. the stupid question of the night is has the clutch failed?
