Ipd Coolant hose filter 700

Has anyone here tried the Ipd coolant hose filter. For those that have no idea what I am talking about.... ipd coolant hose filter. This filter is suppose to pick up debris in the cooling system and trap it. Ipd claims you can clean the filter yourself. Has anyone tried this product? What were your feelings about it? Would it be possible to make something like this at home? buy some clear piping/hose and some kind of filter material.
