What is a volvo polar

I am in Rome on a summer vacation and have seen several volvos with Polar written on the back where it would normally say 740 or something like that. They look like regular european 700 or 900 series cars. What are they?

I havent seen as many 300 or 400 series as I had hoped, they mostly seem to have new cars in europe.
