trying to troubleshoot a VDO ambient temp. gauge... 200

I believe I've wired the gauge correctly (got it from the junk yard) ....

sender to the only post left after wiring + and -,

maybe the light bulb being burnt out prevents + from getting to the gauge

in any case when I hook up the sender to the gauge it immediately pegs to 100 degrees, since I'm here in Columbus and it isn't 100 yet I know something's fishy.

Does anyone know where to get info on VDO gauges?

or has anyone fixed a temp. gauge?

This is in my '86 245, mounted in the high spot, wired to + on fuse 13 along with the voltmeter and the 5 bar oil pressure gauge.

thanks for any assistance

jack
