Lower Control Arm Bushings Kaput..... 200 1978

I had the 78 242 in for the annual mechanical inspection. Apparently the lower control aerm bushing is so far gone, the mechanic says there is approximately one inch of forward/aft motion of the front left wheel.

I have the bushings (fcpgroton.com) and am about to start into the job.

What pitfalls await me??

I have swapped out struts, strut cartridges, springs, and complete brake systems.

How would I tell if the lower control arm, or the mounting block (held to the chassis with 3 bolts) is shot and in need of replacement??

Do I need any custom tools or equipment?

Will a heavy duty C-clamp be enought to press in the bushings?

Thanks in advance.
